We believe that financial barriers should never be the reason a student misses out on a strong and meaningful future. The Mararna Foundation was established to provide support for Aboriginal students pursuing pathways into trades, higher education, and university.
Our support may include assistance with school and course fees, training and education pathways, mentoring, cultural support, and access to essential learning resources. Each student is assessed individually to ensure the right level of support provided, recognising that every journey is unique.
The foundation exists to support Aboriginal students who are passionate about building a future through education, skills and knowledge. Our mission is to help young people stay engaged in school, transition into higher education, university and gain the qualifications they need to succeed.
Families and communities are encouraged to contribute what they can, ensuring the experience remains inclusive, accountable, empowering, strengthening long-term outcomes for individuals and the wider community.
The Mararna Foundation is a First Nations–led initiative dedicated to creating meaningful employment pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. By bridging the gap between school, training, and industry, we provide young people with the confidence, skills, and support they need to build long-lasting careers.
Although many Aboriginal students show strong interest in trade-based careers, too many miss out. The Mararna Foundation exists to remove the barriers – step by step, student by student.
The Mararna Foundation follows a shared support model. Each student receives financial and educational support tailored to their needs, while families contribute what they can – ensuring shared ownership and pride.
The Foundation covers the remaining costs needed for the student to participate, complete school, and enter their chosen trade pathway. Eligibility, progress, and support requirements are reviewed regularly. Students remain connected with mentors throughout their journey.
The Foundation is open to Indigenous students who:
